Clemson Athletics
Starting with the most popular thing to do during the fall: support your Clemson Tigers every Saturday, whether from the stands in Death Valley or on television while on the road. People from all over filter into the college town and set up their tailgates on every square inch of the campus. Children, adults, students, and alum alike wake up in the orange and purple, ready to cheer on the Tigers and participate in the Clemson traditions.
Football isn’t the only sport that brings a crowd to the campus. Many people enjoy watching softball and baseball during the spring season or rooting for the basketball and gymnastics teams during the winter, along with many other sports. Students can also join intramural and club sports teams through Clemson to stay active and make new friends.
Coffee Shops Near Clemson University
If you need a pick-me-up, definitely check out one of the many coffee shops in the area! Students will head over to find a place to study between classes or grab a cup and chat with their friends. Summer Moon and All In are within walking distance of Clemson University’s campus, while there are multiple Starbucks locations.
Things to do outside in Clemson, SC
As the weather gets nicer and the days get hotter, students can soak up the sun by the pool at their Clemson off-campus apartment or head over to Lake Hartwell. Students have access to the Snow Complex, which has Y-Beach, access to the lake, paddleboarding, kayaking, beach volleyball and intramural fields. It’s a great place to spend a beautiful day because there is a wide variety of fun activities to enjoy with friends.
There are also over 18 hiking trails within the Clemson area. Explore the Experimental Forest or stroll on the Dikes overlooking Lake Hartwell near your off-campus housing.
Downtown Clemson, SC
Along with local coffee shops, downtown Clemson has different apparel stores, boutiques, restaurants, bars, fitness studios, and more! Check out the local businesses and stock up on your gameday apparel. These shops have a variety of dresses, sweatshirts, coasters, coolers, polos and other ways to show your Tiger pride.
No matter when you come to Clemson, there is always something to do in Tiger Town. You can catch a fabulous sunset in the hills or grab a bite to eat downtown with family and friends. There are a bunch of great outdoor activities, so get exploring!
